Olis… “sneak peak”

I found these great custom made ties on www.etsy.com. I’ve been waiting for a “little man” to come to the studio. These are exactly what I envisioned when I ordered these little ties.
Isn’t he just adorable…

“All about me”… customized album

As promised I’m posting about new products offered in 2010.

I am so excited this album! I wish I would have done one for my kiddo’s because I was so horrible about keeping up with their baby books! It a 10×10 album with room for journaling, hand prints, and lots of pictures. The little hand drawn details are so fun and unique. This book could be used to ceebrate any birthday. Its perfect for those messy cupcake images taken during the “first birthday” session.

It could also be used as a “FIRST YEAR BOOK”, to include maternity, newborn, 6 month and 1 year portraits. Normally it’s a 20 page album but more pages can be added to include journaling, hand prints, foot prints and LOTS of pictures.

Grand Opening… AK CAKE STUDIO

Last night visitors of the AK Cake Studio were welcomed with a delicious treat, champagne cake with strawberry mouse and a heavenly red velvet cake. The AK CAKE STUDIO celebrated their “official” grand opening and their “first” First Friday event last night. Hundres of friends, family and locals showed their support to the new downtown business that is bringing gourmet desserts, chocolates and treats to Anchorage. Mayor Dan Sullivan cut the 250 pound cake and the Anchorage “Big Wild Life” moose visited the bakery.

The bakery showcased my photography for the event! It was fun to see the images all hung throughout the bakery. The display included some product photography I did for the bakery of their scruptious desserts. My favorite is the tiramisu cupcakes. I also hung a varity of my portrait/wedding photography. There are 5-6 images of a 1 year old eating one of the bakeries fabulous cupcakes made by Chef Will! He is adorable and YES, he really did enjoyed his first cupcake. It was the most perfect “First Birthday Session”! I also hung a variety of other images including wedding and senior portraits. I also wanted to feature a newborn. Miss Gracelynn was only 9 days old in the images on display and just precious as can be.

Thank you to all my friends and family who came down to the grand opening!
The images will be up for a month or so please go downtown and support your local business and get a scrumptious cupcake and coffee.

The bakery is located at 608 West 4th Avenue, next to the Historic 4th Avenue Theatre.

Congratulation Alvin & Chris…

Alvin and Chris had a simple wedding at the courthouse and they came right over to the studio afterwards. They were so sweet and in love and such a joy to be around! They were just laughing and smiling the whole time. I’m so glad it worked out to do their pictures. I truly enjoyed our session and am glad I got to share a few moments of their special day. After doing many, many stressful weddings it was very refreshing to have such a happy, low stress bride & groom. I just love how how the camera captures their happiness.
I just wanted to share a few images for the lovely couple…

January sunrise…

A few weeks ago I left the studio and saw this gorgous sun peaking over the mountains. I had a few minutes to myself before picking up the kids. I got some gorgeous images and it seemed the sunrise took forever (which was nice for me!). I love the dark blue in the sky and the golden glow. I truly love the mountains and can’t imagine living anywhere else! The beauty we are surrounded by is amazing and it was nice to take a few minutes out of my busy schedule to appreciate it.

New Product… “Session Canvas”

A clients asked about a canvas with a bunch of her images. Wall collections are great, but they can take up a lot of wall space (and get costly when adding frames). wooooallllaaaaaa….. THE SESSION CANVAS! A 20×20 gallery wrap canvas with images from your session. I love how you can put in some of the funny “outtakes” that clients like but don’t always purchase. What about adding images from previous sessions.. wouldn’t that be fun! Or mix color and black and white! You can also add some “artistic” images to tie everything together. The detail in the little frames is amazing!
