It seemed like a long wait for Miss Ava to get here. We did her beautiful mom’s maternity pictures when they first arrived in Anchorage. Here is the link to her maternity session. I was so excited when Miss Ava finally decided she was ready to fall asleep. I’m so excited to share a few images from her session. These were my favorite with the soft knit blanket and yellow basket. She just looks so sweet. I added some “artistic’ touches to the images for a vintage feel and it works great with these images!

Our family packed up and went north for the weekend. Our goal was to use the caribou hunting permit our “Poppie” had to use but I was lucky enough to have a few moments to capture a few images. It was a beautiful evening in the Alaskan artic! On Saturday we woke up to dark rain clouds so I truly appreciated the beautiful Friday evening. The sun was shining and the moutains were out in all their glory! The kids had a great time exporing and enjoying looking through the “noculars”. We were lucky enough to bring home a caribou and some blueberries!

It seems fall is quickly sneaking into the Anchorage area. The signs of all are all around us. There is even termination dust on the mountain tops! I LOVE FALL! I’ve been waiting for the crisp air, warm sweaters, and the gorgous colors! I am currently scheduling sessions in September and the space is very limited this year. I am so far behind on my own family pictures (isn’t that horrible, but true!). I wanted to share a beautiful picture of my favorite model from our session last fall…
As a photographer, it is exciting to truly captured the moment and give clients a snapshot into their lives to treasure forever. There was a lot of “oooohhhhh sweet” and “awwwwwe” when I was proofing the session! The family played and kept their little guy happy and I was able to catpure these “lifestyle” or “journalistic” images. I love this style because they truly capture the moment and the love this family shares for each other. Thank you Jocelyn and Ken for allowing me to photograph her sweet baby!

I’m so excited to share this sneak peek! I worked with this family a few years ago and the sweet, playful images of the girls are still on my site. So, when Jessica called a few weeks ago I knew it would be a great session. The girls were so sweet and just full of personality! The sihlouettes are my personal favorites but we also found the prettiest little patch of flowers that photographed beautifuly. We were fighting the bright sun and squinting eyes but I’m so happy with the images and excited to share! Enjoy Jessica…

Brit and Nate were married at the rustic, truly Alaskan, Raven’s Nest in Girdwood. The home is nestled in the woods with a beautiful flowing glacier stream. As I began my drive down the Turnagain Arm the sun began to shine and it was a perfect evening for their outdoor ceremony. The bride looked stunning and the colors were so rich and fun! The ceremony was simple and focused on their love for each other with personal vows and a candle ceremony that included all their friends and family! The food was all homemade and simply delicious. The cake was being baked as the guest arrived and the smells that filled their air were spectacular. It truly was a wonderful meal and I would highly recommend the Raven’s Nest to any bride that is interested in a unique, truly Alaskan wedding with the most amazing hospitality. It was a special evening for Brit and Nate to begin their life together as husband and wife.
The Friese family is always a joy to photograph… every single last one of them! Soon there will be another addition to their lovely family and I can’t wait to meet the baby! I’m so honored to capture their precious family memories. I hope the images hold a special place in your heart and captures your family just as you are!
