Celebrating motherhood… l Anchorage maternity photographer l

I love photographing maternity sessions! It’s such a special time for a woman and scheduling a maternity session is a good way to catpure the beauty that will soon fade. I know women often feel “huge” and “not beautiful” but I have heard time and time again from clients they are glad they booked a session. The best time to book a maternity session is about 32-35 weeks.

Here is a peak from a recent maternity session. We are all waiting for this little baby to arrive… very soon! I know mommy is ready to have her sweet little baby in her arms but doesn’t she just “glow” in these maternity portraits!

This little guy just rocks his little faux hawk! Look at his little squishy face, sweet lips and tiny toes. I just smile each time I look at his images and I just feel in love with this little guy… Here is a sneak peek for the Morehead family. Congrats on your handsome little man!

1 year portaits… l Anchorage Children Photographer l

Awww.. These images just make me smile. I met Hawkins when he was only a few days old and now he’s 1 year old! I can’t believe it and I find myself thinking “where did the year go?” and know his mom and dad are wondering the same thing. It is so fun to watch Hawkins grow into such a cute little man! Here is one of my favorites from his newborn session and a sneak peek from his 1 year session…

Fall fun… l Anchorage family photographer l

The leaves fall so quickly every year and I wish there were more days to do family sessions with the beautiful oranges and late afternoon sun. Luckily the weather cooperated for the McDermott family session. Here are a few of my favorites…. just Miss Ella Rose having some fun. Thank you Sandy for allowing me to photograph your sweet family again this year! I hope you love these ones… (your gallery will be open very soon!)

Custom Product “4×8 Pocket Fold” … l Laura Stoddard Photography l

It has been awhile since I posted sample images of products offered through the studio. I love this custom designed 4×8 pocket fold album. It holds 10-12 images and is perfect for seniors to show off their images or a special gift for grandma (or mom!). Here is a sample using Megan’s senior pictures…

Miss Ava l Anchorage newborn photography l

It seemed like a long wait for Miss Ava to get here. We did her beautiful mom’s maternity pictures when they first arrived in Anchorage. Here is the link to her maternity session. I was so excited when Miss Ava finally decided she was ready to fall asleep. I’m so excited to share a few images from her session. These were my favorite with the soft knit blanket and yellow basket. She just looks so sweet. I added some “artistic’ touches to the images for a vintage feel and it works great with these images!
Here are a few from Miss Ava’s first session…

Alaskan adventures… l Anchorage family photography l

Our family packed up and went north for the weekend. Our goal was to use the caribou hunting permit our “Poppie” had to use but I was lucky enough to have a few moments to capture a few images. It was a beautiful evening in the Alaskan artic! On Saturday we woke up to dark rain clouds so I truly appreciated the beautiful Friday evening. The sun was shining and the moutains were out in all their glory! The kids had a great time exporing and enjoying looking through the “noculars”. We were lucky enough to bring home a caribou and some blueberries!
Here are a few images from our adventure…
